It's official, my wife has taken control of my Akiles Offibind comb binder. Being a bit of a desktop publishing junkie, I bought the binder a year or so ago. It was collecting dust in my home office, only rarely being used when I needed it for work (I should add that whenever I do use it, I always get compliments on the impressive, professional looking documents).
Anyway, my wife came in a month or so ago and asked if she could borrow it. It's been in her craft room ever since. Originally she wanted to use it to make an address book for her women's group at church. But now she's found dozens of uses for it - she binds whatever she can get her hands on. I'm still allowed to use it every once in a while when I need to for work, but she has done more with it in the past few weeks than I had in months owning the Offibind. She says that she is particularly impressed by the fact that she can easily put together professional looking booklets in just a few minutes.
My favorite thing to do for christmas and birthday presents is to make scrapbook calendars. The best way to bind these is with a binder, so I completely understand your wife. I bought an inexpensive comb binder and have found many other uses. Maybe you should buy her one for herself, sure she would love it.

That's a great idea! I have been agonizing over what to give her for Christmas this year. What type of comb binder do you use, and are you happy with it?
