I trust that everyone had a lovely holiday and is happy to finally relax!
I wrote a few weeks ago that I had bought my wife the Accubanker AB-230 for a charity event that she was planning for our church. (How I Chose The Accubanker AB-230)
She had been gathering money up until the big event last week, and didn't want to have to count it out by hand. I bought her the Accubanker AB-230 only after she convinced me that she would also use it for our kids' sporting events and other church fundraisers. So last week was the big day. It was a great success - she had decorated our home and had dinner served. She collected just over $10,000 in donations, which is double what they expected.
She used the Accubanker almost everyday up until last week, and it worked fine every time. She used it for both cash donations and checks. It never jammed or had any other problems.
I hope someday that an affordable bill separator will come out too, because separating the bills in to $1s, $5s, $10s, $20s, etc. can take a long time too.
So does this machine count coins too or is it just for bills? I'm looking for something to use for a small carwash. Do you know of a machine that would be good for that? I don't want to spend more than a $200 or so.

John -
You will be hard pressed to spend less than $200 for a good quality coin counter, unless you have unusually small amounts to count for your carwash. The Accubanker AB410 works well and is just over $200, but for high volume counting you really need something like the Semacon S35. The Semacon S35 costs about $900, but unless you really are not getting high volume in your wash, the cost will quickly be apparent in time saved.

As far as bill counters ago, I would stick with Accubanker. I have used their machines for last 10 years, and I love them. I own a bar, so counting money each night needs to be fast and accurate. I do own the Accubanker AB10, and it hasn't let me down. Well worth the cost.
