Case Study: Dunkin' Donuts Counterfeit Problem

Many businesses with high cash flow can experience a significant drain on revenues when dealing with fake bills. When the owner of Dunkin' Donuts stores in Western Long Island noticed that a higher than average amount of fake bills were cutting into their bottom line, he took action.

Industria products provided an affordable, effective solution.

Problem:
A Dunkin Donuts owner noticed his locations were losing revenue to fake bills. Throughout 12 locations, each was taking in about two counterfeit $100 bills a day.

Solution:
The owner purchased an Industria counterfeit detector for each location, with a plan to put on under the cashier's counter.  A MachineRunner representative advised the store owner to place counterfeit detectors in plain site on the countertop and to have employees run every bill through the machine.

Resolution:
The visibility was a clear deterrent. Counterfeit bills were eliminated within one week of installation of the detectors. Counterfeit detectors are still used at the stores, but are in a more convenient location under the counter.

This is very interesting! I didn't think that counterfeit bills were still an issue these days. What a great machine to ward off evil-doers! I'm interested to see what kinds of other office products you blog about! Thanks for sharing.
